Der Zweck des Vereins, welcher nicht gewinnstrebig ist, umfasst (i) das Studium der ökonomischen, technischen statistischen und finanziellen Probleme mit welchen die europäische Faltschachtelkarton-Industrie konfrontiert ist (ii) die Förderung der Zusammenarbeit derverschiedenen Organisationen der europäischen Faltschachtelkarton-Hersteller zu diesem Zweck und (iii) Forschungstätigkeit und (iv) die Durchsetzung von angemessenen Lösungen. Der Verein kann alle Handlungen und Transaktionen durchführen und alles unternehmen was die Erreichung seines Zweckes fördern kann, namentlich in Zusammenarbeit unter seinen Mitgliedern sowie die Erstellung eines gemeinsamen Dokumentations-, Repräsentations- und Informationszentrums.
