Die Stiftung bezweckt im Gebiet "Wasserfallen" ein naturnahes Erholungsgebiet für die Region zu schaffen und auf Dauer zu erhalten. Sie erfüllt damit eine im öffentlichen Interesse liegende Aufgabe auf gemeinnütziger Basis. Zu diesem Zweck erwirbt sie die "Vordere WasserfalleAG", Eigentümerin des "Wasserfallenhofes". Die Stiftung kann weitere Grundstücke erwerben, sofern dies im Interesse ihrer Aufgabenerfüllung liegt. Landwirtschaftlich genutzte Grundstücke werden biologisch bewirtschaftet und naturschützerische Anliegen sind möglichst zu berücksichtigen.
